DELTAWRX assisted with replacing the CAD, Mobile, Law RMS and Field Reporting, Fire RMS and ePCR systems used by the Fire, Police and Sheriff’s Departments. In addition to these core applications, the replacement project included interfaces to third party systems and to state and federal databases.
DELTAWRX engaged more than 90 end-users to gain insight into the legacy system’s strengths and limitations and identify business needs, which we subsequently used as a springboard to develop functional requirements and interface specifications. DELTAWRX then worked with the City to develop a comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFP) for the public safety systems.
We facilitated the proposal evaluation and selection process, which ultimately resulted in selecting
separate vendors for the CAD/Mobile and RMS/Field Reporting systems. We led the City through contract negotiations with each of the selected vendors, during which time the Alexandria Fire Department decided to upgrade, rather than replace, its existing Fire RMS and ePCR applications.
Following contract negotiations, DELTAWRX provided project management assistance during the CAD/Mobile and RMS/Field Reporting system implementations. To assist the City with implementing the new systems, DELTAWRX created a change management plan that documented over 70 key public safety business processes, identified process changes that would occur with the implementation of the new system and developed an action plan to address these changes.
