With the holiday season upon us and the New Year in sight, we would like to take a moment to extend a heartfelt season’s greetings to the many public safety agencies and communities with whom we have partnered this year. What a year it has been!
The public safety technology market made strides this year in offering tools to enhance first responders’ situational awareness, extend functionality to handheld devices, advance geospatial capabilities and strengthen cybersecurity. We have seen cloud-based solutions move to the forefront of discussions, with the Software as a Service model appealing to a broader range of public safety agencies. We also see that FirstNet is making significant progress in its deployment of the nation’s public safety broadband network and that agencies are beginning to see the benefits of the new system. Our consultants have been at the forefront of many of these issues, leading industry committees, speaking at conferences and brokering planning sessions between public safety agencies and the vendor community.
In 2018, our professional and speaking engagements have taken us throughout California, and to many other states, including Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah and Washington. This is a double-edged sword as it requires us to spend considerable time away from our friends and families.
