Project Management: Oversight and Implementation
Monterey County and its cities have created regional governance to consolidate all local public safety communications into a single shared integrated voice and data system. The project has an approximately $14 million budget with more than 20 participating public safety agencies. DELTAWRX worked with all local agencies to develop requirements for a shared P25 radio system (trunked VHF and 700 MHz operation) voice radio system. As part of our assignment, we developed potential system configurations and costs, cost-sharing models, drafted and released a Request for Proposals, assisted in the evaluation of the proposals and led contract negotiations with Harris, the system’s selected vendor. We are currently overseeing the implementation of the system as the County’s Project Manager.
As the project managers, DELTAWRX is responsible for leading meetings with stakeholders, coordinating with the FCC for frequency acquisitions and collaborating with the system vendor and engineers on assessing radio propagation coverage models.
